One of the most common dental problems and concerns of mothers with their kids especially infants between 1 – 5 years old  is the Baby bottle syndrome.

Baby-bottle Syndrome

Baby-bottle Syndrome

Baby bottle syndrome is when infants fall asleep with a bottle of milk in their mouths. This does not happen for milks alone but also with other drinks that has sugar like juice drinks.

Milks and other drinks containing sugar and acids cause tooth decay and cavity problem.

Mothers should keep an eye to their kids and help them out to break this habit. It is far better to teach kids to brush and floss their teeth every after eating.

  4. I have to admit, I had this exact syndrome before! I was bottlefed for a long time, up to when I reached prep school. I suffered from tooth decay, ugh!

As a doctor, I know better than using bottles to feed babies when they are already capable of sipping via a cup. Yes, bottlefeeding is more convenient, but we owe it to children to do better, yes? 🙂 Hope you visit my blog where I also write health articles and medical updates!
